This is our count-down calendar. I can't believe how fast the time is going.
All we have is E R V E left.
Tuesday we had district lunch and meeting. Then we had an appointment with an investigator. It was kind of rough. I wasn't really feeling well and we weren't too prepared to teach and she was kind of being rude to the waiter at the coffee shop. She was with her friend and when she talked she talked really softly. We decided to reschedule for Thursday. It was a rough lesson but I am grateful for even those lesson because I learn that I truly can't do this on my own and I really do need the spirit to lead and guide me in this work. I am so grateful for the knowledge that the Lord will give me that help that I need and that through His help I can do it. I had a fever and was feeling really bad, so I went home and rested.
Wednesday my fever was gone, but I have a really bad cough that won't go away. We met with our investigator who was getting baptized on Sunday. She is awesome. We taught her the commandments. She said she will keep them all. She asked us if we had ever had any trouble keeping the commandments. I am so grateful for y'all for teaching me to just keep the commandments. I am so grateful that its just what we do, you know. It doesn't matter why we have them, just if we keep them we will be blessed and that's all that matters. Then we met with a new investigator. She was nice and she asked lots about our church, namely polygamy. That was fun. We had dinner with the elders and then went to the mission prep class, to act as investigators. It was fun.
Thursday we went and met with a new investigator that called from an english advertisement. She was sweet. It was fun. Then we met with another investigator. She is tricky. We aren't really sure why she meets with us. I think she agrees with our message, but she won't come to church. We are still trying with her though. Then that night we met with 2 other investigators. They are 2 college girls. They love meeting with us. They will be going back to their university soon though, which is sad, but they do want us to refer them to the missionaries there.
Friday morning we met with 2 investigators. They are nice. We are doing the English program with them. They are sweet. They want to be flight stewardess, so they have to know English. That is a very coveted job here. We had English class and got in groups and did free talking. I was talking to a man who was baptized about a year ago, I think he is less active now but he was talking about how we have so many rules as missionaries, more then the monks and how the monks live up in the temples and stuff, but we as missionaries are down in the world and surrounded by temptation all the time, but we still keep the rules and he said how much he respects us. It was really cool.
I called Sister Furniss today, because of my illness. So I may or may not have bronchitis. I have to go to the hospital and get some antibiotics. That will be fun. My cough is getting really annoying. Saturday morning we went to the church and met with an investigator. She was getting baptized on Sunday so we were doing her baptismal interview with the district leader. I think it went well. We did some English surveys in the subway. It was fun. It was so cold outside, so I am glad we were able to do it indoors. We met some people in the subway and she was telling us when she was younger she would go to church not because she had to but because of how she felt at church and we explained about how that is how we teach people to know the truthfulness of our message. She was really interested and got kind of emotional. I think we will meet with her again, but I am nervous. I have never had to teach in English. I don't know if I can do it. It will be fun though. She was really sweet.
We had a baptism right after church. There was also a little boy in the ward getting baptized. It was really good. The water was freezing cold and Sister Jo was sick, so I felt really bad, but it was good. It was an incredible experience. She is going to be an awesome member. I love being a missionary and seeing people come closer to Christ and becoming happy by accepting the gospel of Jesus Christ. This church is true and is the only way we can be truly happy in this life. It was a good day.
